The Mayor's Appeal 2026/27
Mayor Cllr Colin Cape has launched his Civic Appeal and is raising funds for The Guardians Grow Chairty.
The Guardians Grow Charity started as a small community group in 2016, becoming a registered charity in 2020.
A fundraising page has been set up to make it easier for people to donate.
The charity has been a safety hub in Nuneaton town centre for over a decade, working to tackle personal and socioeconomic issues such as:
- Domestic violence and assault
- Addictions
- Homelessness
- Financial hardships
- Mental health and trauma
Across the two sites in the Abbey Gate Shopping Centre, residents can access a variety of support that is tailored to their specific needs.
Margaret’s offers a trauma-informed service, where experienced staff and volunteers offer trusted advice, advocacy, and support to help people feel valued and connected.
The Iris Project provides information, guidance, advocacy, and a space for survivors to connect and reclaim their strength through creativity and purpose.
During Covid, they managed to deliver over 6000 food parcels to residents within the borough to ensure that people were fed and checked up on in a time of instability.
This has inspired the opening of a third site, The Dragons Crumb, which will offer cooked and shared meals to support residents who are experiencing financial hardship and loneliness.
