The new Bedworth Physical Activity Hub will replace the existing 1970’s centre, with facilities including a 25m eight lane pool, learner pool with moveable floor, 100-station fitness suite, a reformer pilates studio, changing areas, state-of-the-art 3G sports pitch, four court sports hall and café.
The £30.6million centre, run by award-winning operator Everyone Active in partnership with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, will open from Tuesday 10 March.
Set in Miners' Welfare Park, the park itself is also undergoing a major transformation, with the goal to create an active landscape, which wraps around and compliments the new building. With support and funding from Sport England, the project boasts a series of new mountain bike trails, and features a new all wheels skatepark, learn-to-ride area, and pump track.
The existing leisure centre remained operational whilst the Hub was being built, however at 7pm on Monday, 9 March, Bedworth Leisure Centre will close its doors for the final time, with all memberships transferring to the new site.
