What is the Borough Lottery?

The Council has approved the proposal to create an online Community Lottery which will be the Borough Lottery.  The lottery will enable local good causes to be supported by local residents.

Tickets will cost just £1 and all supporters will get the chance to win a number of prizes through a weekly draw- including a jackpot of £25,000 for a matching sequence of six numbers. Every ticket has a 1 in 50 chance of winning a prize every week.

The draw will take place each Saturday night with the results posted on our website, Facebook and Twitter.

The Borough Lottery will work in a similar way to the National Lottery, however, all funds raised will be spent on community projects in the Borough.

If you are a good cause, why not raise funds though the lottery. You will get your own webpage on the lottery site and bespoke marketing materials.  To find out more about becoming a good cause, download the information pack or visit the borough lottery website.

Dennis Harvey Leader of the Council has said  'There are so many good causes out there needing support and this is a great way for residents to help those close to their heart and on their doorstep, with an opportunity to win a prize as well. This is about us as a council putting something in place which will give local projects the means to raise funds to support their future goals.'

A criteria will be introduced in Autumn 2018 to identify how good causes will be determined.
