The Mayor's Appeal 2020 - 2021

The Mayor's Appeal for 2020 - 2021.

Nuneaton and Bedworth’s continuing Mayor, Cllr June Tandy is proud to continue with her charity appeal for 2020/21 - The George Eliot Hospital Serenity Garden.

The Serenity Garden will provide a beautiful open space away from clinical areas for patients to relax and socialise during their hospital stay.

The garden will contain an outdoor rehabilitation area for people affected by stroke which will allow the provision of a wide range of activities including gardening, art and music therapies for people with dementia as well as the ability to pet animals.

Mayor, Cllr Tandy said:

“I am extremely proud to be launching my charity appeal in aid of the Serenity Garden. Stroke and dementia touches the lives of so many people and the garden will provide a crucial area for rehabilitation and relaxation.

"With 2019 being the Coventry and Warwickshire ‘Year of Wellbeing’ the cause seems fitting. Allowing a wonderful array of activities to support recovery, the garden will be beneficial to all patients, not just those affected by stroke or dementia. I cannot wait to get stuck in to fundraising for this cause and provide as much help as I can to support this fantastic local resource.”
