Green homes grant scheme

The Council has been awarded money from the Government to provide external wall insulation for low energy rated solid wall properties in the Borough.  

  • Up to one third of your home’s heat is lost through solid walls if they are not insulated. This is a great opportunity to save money and save energy
  • We are using local contractor, Rockwarm, for the installations who are well known in the area who are Trust Marked with many years experience

The scheme is available to both owner occupiers and landlords in the private rented sector.

Enquiries will be dealt with in date order as funding is limited.

Owner-occupier households – grant up to £10,000

This scheme is based on the following eligibility criteria:

  • The solid wall property must have a low Energy Rating, rated as E, F and G as determined by an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) – we will arrange an inspection if you do not have and EPC
  • The combined annual household income is below £30k

Private rented households – grant of up to £5,000

  • Your landlord must fund at least one third of the cost
  • The solid wall property must have a low Energy Rating, rated as E, F and G as determined by an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Your property should have an EPC if you are renting it
  • The combined annual household income is below £30k

If you are a private tenant, the landlord will receive a maximum of £5k with the landlord contributing at least one third of the cost, please contact your landlord to seek their agreement before making an enquiry.
