Election information Candidates and Agents
The Candidate and Agent briefing ahead of the Borough elections on 7 May 2026 will be held remotely on 26 February 2026, from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
The briefing provides essential guidance on the nomination process, election timetable, campaign rules, and arrangements for polling day and the count.
The briefing will include an overview of:
- The timetable for the local election and key deadlines
- Completing and submitting nomination papers correctly
- Spending rules and candidate expenses
- Polling day arrangements
- Postal vote handling
- Verification and count procedures
- Accessibility requirements and support for voters
- Contact details for the Elections Team
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

Submitting nomination papers
Please complete nomination papers early and arrange for us to provide an informal check; you can do this by contacting the Elections Team on candidates@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk
Nominations MUST be delivered by hand to Nuneaton Town Hall and handed to elections staff from 10am on Monday 23 March 2026, closing at 4pm on Thursday 9 April. A booking system has been produced and you can book an appointment:
