Funding opportunities for allotments
Section 106 funds
Section 106 (S106) funding refers to money or contributions that property developers must provide to a local authority in England as part of a planning agreement. It comes from Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
NBBC collects funds specifcally for allotment associations across the borough. Once funds have been recieved allotment associations who have funds available, are contacted and invited to complete an application detailing how they would like to use the allocated funds.
Warwickshire County Councillors Fund
The Warwickshire County Council Councillors' Grant Fund provides each of the council's 57 councillors with an allocated fund of £8,000 each to support small-scale projects within their division.
The fund aims to
- improve access to services,
- reduce loneliness and isolation,
- enhance physical and mental health and wellbeing,
- improve the local environment and sustainability.
Applications for the fund can be submitted annually around the months of June or July each year. If all funds are not allocated, they have a second round launching September each year. Community and voluntary groups are invited to apply for funding, and the fund has previously supported an allotment project with a Harvesting rainwater system.
