Why we’re consulting

As a Council, we talk and listen to those we serve all the time - we believe that our daily contact and feedback from residents and customers helps us to understand the priorities of local people, but we want to be sure that everyone has the chance to be heard. We’re asking for your input into two key processes that will help us shape our services for the future:

  • Council Corporate Plan 2019-2031 – this is the strategic plan that sets out our vision and direction of travel for the next decade and beyond
  • Council budget for 2019-2021 – which defines our immediate spending priorities

We want to make sure we’re focusing on the right areas, to understand what matters to you and your families and how we can make the Borough an even better place to live, work and visit. Whether it's refuse collection, street cleaning or community safety, parks, leisure, affordable housing or thriving town centres, tell us what you think works or needs improving and where the Council should prioritise its efforts in the future.

It is essential that we have clear priorities based on local needs, particularly in these financially challenging times, and we would be most grateful for your thoughts.

How to give your views

We will be arranging a series of Engage NBBC events where you will be able to chat to a member of our team and complete the survey.   Keep an eye our for these event days.

Closing dates

  • To fit in with our budget timetable, we’ll need feedback on the budget consultation by 30 September 2018
  • We have a little longer for the corporate plan survey - you have until 31 October 2018 to complete this survey

What happens to the feedback?

The results of both surveys will inform our planning processes.

Summarised feedback will be published on our website and presented to Cabinet alongside the budget and corporate planning reports.
