Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council to help clean up as part of the Great British Spring Clean campaign
Published on Wednesday, 4th March 2020
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council will be getting behind this year’s Great British Spring Clean, the country’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign run by charity Keep Britain Tidy.
The campaign, which runs from March 20th to April 13th, will see up to 600,000 people taking action to clean up streets, parks and beaches across the country.
The Great British Spring Clean brings together individuals, community organisations, businesses and councils to show they love where they live. In 2019 more than half a million #LitterHeroes collected more than 900,000 bags of rubbish!
We want you to take part.
If you would like to organise and take part in your own community litter pick we can help by providing litter picking equipment and bags. In addition we can arrange for the bagged litter to be collected after the litter pick has taken place.
Cllr Jill Sheppard, Portfolio Holder for Central Services and Refuse said:
“We are delighted to be getting involved in this year’s Great British Spring Clean! This campaign will encourage people to keep the Borough tidy and make a conscious effort to look after our environment.”
Keep Britain Tidy Chief Executive Allison Ogden-Newton OBE said:
“The overwhelming response to last year’s Great British Spring Clean showed that there are many thousands of people out there who love where they live and are prepared to take action to make it better for themselves, their families and their communities.
“We would like to thank them for their support and encourage as many people as possible to support them and join them in taking action.”
Please email customer services at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 02476 376170 to request any bags or equipment and arrange litter collections.
