Approval granted for cross-party working group to oversee regeneration plan of Bedworth town centre

Published on Thursday, 16th January 2020

At its meeting on Wednesday 15th January, Cabinet set up a Transforming Bedworth Cross-Party Working Group that will be an equal partnership of 3 Borough Councillors and 3 County Councillors.

These arrangements mirror the ones that currently exist for the Transforming Nuneaton programme.

The new group will support the production and delivery of a regeneration plan for Bedworth town centre and the delivery of the aspirations of the Bedworth Town Centre Visioning Document, which will set out an overarching strategic, long-term concept for the future physical and economic development of Bedworth town centre.

Once a final version of the Bedworth Town Centre Visioning Document has been produced and appropriately signed off, the a Transforming Bedworth Cross-Party Working Group will allow regular and focussed political input into the delivery of its aims and aspirations over the medium to long-term.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Julie Jackson said:

“It is great news that we have set up the Transforming Bedworth Cross-Party Working Group and we can now forge on with our plans to provide valuable Councillor support to the long-term transformation of Bedworth town centre.”
