“Transforming Nuneaton, in conjunction with House of Escapes, gave attendees a great experience – interactive, fun and informative, all with one key aim to promote the town of Nuneaton"

Our flagship event for the Coventry and Warwickshire Business festival went down a storm earlier this week as delegates met at the former Co-op site to take part in an exciting ‘escape room’ style activity and networking event which allowed them to give feedback on the proposals for the Transforming Nuneaton programme.

Attendees were treated to an interactive experience where they had to crack codes and build a 3D model of a site included in the Transforming Nuneaton programme. This unveiled an informative TN marketing video showcasing the progress to date.

The event provided an excellent platform for networking and in-depth discussions on the TN programme, giving the Council the opportunity to collect ideas from the people who will be influential in its future. Delegates provided vital feedback, including their thoughts on the best uses for the future development sites.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council are working together in partnership to deliver the Transforming Nuneaton Programme to create a vibrant, attractive and prosperous town which supports economic growth for the future.

Catherine Marks, Programme Manager - Transforming Nuneaton, Warwickshire County Council said:

“Transforming Nuneaton, in conjunction with House of Escapes, gave attendees a great experience – interactive, fun and informative, all with one key aim to promote the town of Nuneaton and the ambitions we have for it. The event gave people a chance to experience the escape room and learn more about how plans for Transforming Nuneaton are progressing.  It was great to see people talking about the town and find out what they think; thank you to all who were involved in organising it”

NBBC Executive Director - Operations, Brent Davis said:

“This was a great event which really saw the delegates engaged in the Transforming Nuneaton programme and stimulated some interesting conversations about what the future of Nuneaton town centre could look like.

"The Council obtained some excellent feedback from attendees which we will use as Transforming Nuneaton gains momentum. I would like to thank all delegates for their time and the organisers for delivering such an innovative and thought- provoking event.”

The former Co-op Headquarter Offices provided a perfect backdrop for the event, with its exquisite interior décor, stained glass windows and apt features such as the old bank vault. The venue brought another level of intrigue to the occasion. New tenants and event hosts, Hannah and David Betts, have worked with the Borough Council to breathe new life into the parts of the Former Co-op that will be home to their businesses  “Time Squared” and “House of Escapes” - Nuneaton’s exciting new interactive escape room experience. They hope to formally launch both of their businesses later this year.

Hannah and David used their extensive experience to execute the event perfectly, Hannah said:

“When the council approached us to be part of this event we were really excited to be involved. The occasion has provided a great platform to present Transforming Nuneaton in an innovative way as well as to showcase the unique spin we can put on a message. We really enjoyed hosting the event and look forward to opening the doors to our stunning venue. Watch out for an exciting announcement coming very soon, follow us on Facebook  or sign up to our mailing list to be the first to find out.”

Renting an area of some 7,000 square feet across two upper floors of the building, the premises will allow the duo to offer one of the boldest interactive experiences of its kind in the UK. Training, corporate team building, recruitment and conference facilities will also be available alongside the escape room experience.

Attendee, Les Ratcliffe MBE TD DL, Managing Director at Community Engagement Limited said:

“The event proved to be a really interesting insight to our town transformation and a great opportunity to see the plans for Transforming Nuneaton and peruse our local heritage.”

Coming Soon! Bedworth Town Centre Consultation

These are exciting times as coming soon is an 8 week public consultation on the draft Bedworth Town Centre Visioning Document. The feedback received will enable a final version to be produced. This will give an overarching strategic, long term, vision for the future physical and economic development of Bedworth town centre and will be used in the application to Round 2 of the Government’s Future High Streets Fund [FHSF] that the Borough Council has committed to make.
