This Museum Hands On session really ROCKS!
Published on Monday, 16th September 2019
Join our Access Assistants this Saturday as they share with you some of our collection’s many objects made out of stone.
Get hands on with real historical objects and marvel at the fine craftsmanship that has beautifully shaped this otherwise ordinary material. With examples that even include a carved teapot, you may be surprised at what you might find.
Hands on History sessions are free and there is no need to book. Drop in between 11am to 4pm in the George Eliot Gallery.
Councillor Ian Lloyd, Portfolio Holder for Arts & Leisure said:
“The Museum’s Hands on History sessions create the perfect opportunity to get out and explore the Museum & Art Gallery. The event is free and there is also the opportunity to view the latest exhibitions on display. Everyone will find something to interest them.”
Don't forget our FREE Storytelling for Under 5s on Wednesday 18 September! Join Melly between 11.15am and 11.45am for a picnic story. Be prepared to join in, make some noise and have lots of fun.
