OVO Energy Tour of Britain back in the Borough!

Published on Tuesday, 10th September 2019

Take a chance to see the world’s top riders in action right on your doorstep as we once again welcome Britain’s largest professional cycle race to the Borough this week.

Stage seven of the event, taking place this Friday, 13 September will see the rider’s race from Warwick to Burton Dassett Country Park over a 186.5 kilometre (116-mile) route.

Starting at Warwick Racecourse at 11am the race will reach Bedworth at approximately 12.50pm and will then travel through Bulkington and on towards Shilton and Ansty.

The race will necessitate a rolling road closure as the competitors pass along the route escorted by their team vehicles. Prior notice of the event will be posted by the organisers along the route, the route will need to be clear of parked vehicles on the day of the event to allow the cyclists to pass safely.

Cllr Julie Jackson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council said:

“We are delighted that the OVO will once again be passing through our Borough. It gives residents yet another exciting opportunity to witness some of the world’s top athletes in action. We hope that you and your family are able to make it on the 13th to enjoy this event and spending time in our fantastic Borough.”
