Hands on History - Journey to Japan

Saturday 17 August Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery 11am – 4pm
Take a journey to Japan with our Museum Access Assistants this Saturday!
Focusing on objects with a Japanese provenance, this ‘Hands On’ session will highlight examples of Satsuma ware, lacquerware, domestic and personal accessories from the museum collections. We will also be featuring a star artefact, an unusual clockwork item from the home that exhibits inventive craftsmanship.
Marvel at the making skills and decorative beauty exemplified by these compelling objects from Japan!
Hands on History sessions are free and there is no need to book. Drop in between 11am to 4pm in the Picture Gallery.

“The Museum’s Hands on History sessions create the perfect opportunity to get out and explore the Museum & Art Gallery. The event is free and there is also the opportunity to view the latest exhibitions on display. Everyone will find something to interest them.”
Don't forget our FREE Storytelling for Under 5s on Wednesday 21 August! Join Melly between 11.15am and 11.45am for a Holiday Time story. Be prepared to join in, make some noise and have lots of fun. No booking required, just drop in. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Storytelling may take place in the park depending on the weather. Please check at the museum reception desk.
