Vélo Birmingham & Midlands road closures - Sunday 12 May

Published on Wednesday, 8th May 2019

Please note that Vélo Birmingham & Midlands, in partnership with Warwickshire County Council, will be implementing road closures on Sunday 12 May 2019.

The closures are necessary to facilitate the safe passage of those taking part in the event - full details of the route and an interactive map can be found at www.velobirmingham.com.

The route will come into Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough along Astley Lane and Bedworth Lane, leaving via the B4113 (Longford Road). The A444 and M6 will be open as normal, and these can be used to cross the cycling route during the road closures. Full details of road closures can be found at www.velobirmingham.com/the-route/road-closures.

The route has been carefully considered and selected through a partnership of all local authorities, emergency services and transport operators, to minimise the inconvenience of the necessary road closures. Emergency services will be operating as usual and the public should use normal protocol in the case of an emergency.

Vélo Birmingham and Midlands will do all they can to provide information on how you can best navigate your way around the road closures. All Vélo Birmingham & Midlands road closure information will be shared with travel information services and satellite navigation providers. The Vélo website continues to be updated with detailed road closure and access maps to support local community access as the event approaches.

On the day of the race, Vélo recommend using Google maps or a satellite enabled/live update GPS to navigate around the road closures, as the route and road closures will be updated live.
