With the crane now installed, work on the new McCarthy and Stone development in Church Street, Nuneaton continues at pace.
Generating local employment and kick-starting the transformation of the east side of town, McCarthy and Stone’s new complex of some fifty retirement living apartments will bring a welcome increase to the amount of residential accommodation available within the town centre.
Work started on the former car park site in January and is scheduled to continue during 2019. It is anticipated that apartments will be ready to reserve off the plan during the summer.
Cllr Julie Jackson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council said:
“Nuneaton’s transformation has well and truly begun – it is wonderful to see a crane on the horizon, marking the start of this exciting new chapter for the town centre.
“We are taking great strides forward in our Transforming Nuneaton journey - this new development will bring new residents to town as well revitalising a prominent part of the town centre.”
Cllr Izzi Seccombe, Leader of Warwickshire County Council said:
“We have ambitious plans for Nuneaton town centre and this is just the start.
“The regeneration of the Church Street area through the McCarthy and Stone development is another positive step forward in the Transforming Nuneaton programme. It comes fast on the heels of the completion of highways improvements at Coton Arches, heralding a successful start to a programme that will help Nuneaton to achieve its full potential.”
