Weather warnings force cancellation of Nuneaton's Saturday market

Published on Friday, 26th April 2019

Met Office warnings of stormy conditions has led to Nuneaton's core street market being cancelled tomorrow, Saturday 27 April.

Wind gusts of around 44mph are forecast and these far exceed the tolerance of the market stalls. Trading will be limited to those regular market traders selling perishable goods who are able to trade from their vehicles.

Jonathan White, Head of Town Centres and Marketing said:

“We are disappointed to have to cancel the market tomorrow but, as always, safety has to come first – we simply can’t risk stalls being blown over or staff, traders or members of the public being injured.

“We understand that markets in some neighbouring towns are likely to be cancelled for the same reason.”
