The redevelopment has considerably increased the size of the gym area and improved facilities as well as providing job opportunities. The work has enabled a host of additional provisions which will benefit the community of Keresley and the surrounding area.

CSW Sport provided £5000 to fund the redevelopment work and the NBBC Active 4 Life grant assisted with funding for Elizabeth to attend a qualification in Exercise Referral, which, upon completion will allow her to receive referrals from health professionals.

Elizabeth Lakic commented on undertaking the Exercise referral course:

‘I am excited that soon I will be able to receive referrals from local health professionals once I gain the qualification in Exercise Referrals. This will provide more opportunities for local residents referred by their GP or health professional to exercise.’

Julie Jackson Leader of the Council said:

‘We need facilities like this in the area that are run by local people and are providing a public benefit. It‘s brilliant to see such a great space being used by local residents, and lovely to see Liz furthering her knowledge and expertise in order to help them with their physical and mental health.’

Luke from CSW Sport said:

‘This facility is in the heart of the community and now there is more room and equipment I hope more local residents take advantage of the facility on their door step’.

There are currently a number of offers within the gym including 3 months membership for £45, with more promoted on the new fresh-look website.
