Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council will be conducting litter picks and cleansing at the Griff roundabout and other busy roads in the Borough from Monday 18th March until Friday 5th April.
The clean will cover various stretches of land leading from the Griff roundabout, as well as some busy B rounds in the Borough, and will require some lane closures and traffic management. We ask that during this time consideration is taken by drivers for the cleansing staff working on the highways.
There has been ongoing issues with the litter accumulation along the A444 and other lanes in the Borough for some time, which not only uses tax payer’s money to clean, but is very unsightly for Nuneaton and Bedworth residents and visitors and also places litter pickers undertaking the work in dangerous situations.
Councillor Jill Sheppard, Portfolio Holder for Central Services and Refuse, said:
“The litter picks are necessary to free the area from litter and we thank road users for their patience during this time. If anyone does see littering from a motor vehicle, I urge you to come forward with the details in order for us to investigate.”
The Cleansing schedule is planned as follows; this is weather dependant and may change due to other factors such as traffic flow; however we will keep the public updated as necessary:
