Nuneaton Christmas Tree Damage

Published on Wednesday, 5th December 2018

Last night saw an unfortunate event in Nuneaton town centre. The main Christmas tree suffered some damage through vandalism, with barriers being moved and wiring pulled down.

As a consequence the tree lights have stopped working and operatives report that the fuses have been affected.

An electrician will be on site first thing tomorrow morning to diagnose and repair and damage with the aim to get the lights up and running again as soon as possible.

The lights on the cone tree in Bulkington are also out of order due to water damage, again this will be repaired by an electrician tomorrow.

Cllr Julie Jackson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council said:

“It is very unfortunate that some individuals take this course of action and spoil what is a lovely Christmas spectacle for everyone in our town. I am saddened by this news and want all local people to know that we will ensure that the repairs are carried out as swiftly as possible.”
