New Cemetery Maps

Published on Friday, 9th November 2018

We have created two new cemetery maps; one for Oaston Road Cemetery, Nuneaton and the other for Coventry Road Cemetery, Bedworth.

Visitors attending Oaston Road, Bucks Hill and Attleborough Cemeteries and Chilvers Coton Churchyard over the next few days will be greeted by a heart-warming display of poppy crosses which have been laid by Nuneaton Memories.

Cllr Ian Lloyd, portfolio holder for Arts, Leisure and Economic Development said:

“We are pleased to announce these two new cemetery maps, I know that the members of the public have been keenly awaiting some new maps of the cemeteries and we hope that these provide a clearer depiction for anyone wishing to visit. We are working on new maps for all other cemeteries in the Borough which will be provided soon.

As an ex-serving soldier, I appreciate the efforts of Mark Palmer and Nuneaton Memories in commemorating our fallen heroes. I will be in attendance and laying a wreath Bulkington Parade on Sunday on behalf of the Council to give thanks to all of those who lost their lives in conflict”

Mark Palmer – Founder of Nuneaton Memories said:

“We are forever in gratitude to those brave veterans from World War One who served and did not return. We hope that the crosses provide a fitting tribute to our local heroes to commemorate the special anniversary of this tragic time.

“We will be placing a wreath on Remembrance Sunday at the War Memorial in Riversley Park and also have a wreath being laid for us at Thiepval Memorial in France.”
