After the unprecedented success of last year’s inaugural festival, the stage is once again set for a fortnight of exciting corporate events as the region sees the return of its largest business event.

The festival debut attracted over 100 different events with nearly 5,000 attendees, 23% of whom were from outside the region. Staged at venues across the region from November 19th to 30th, this year’s festival is set to be even bigger and better and will once again include a vast programme of events encompassing a wide range of business sectors.

Designed to encourage collaboration, innovation and shared learning opportunities the festival presents a unique opportunity for local organisations from across the region to enhance and grow their businesses by gaining national exposure, developing business networks and meeting industry experts.

Businesses across Nuneaton and Bedworth have taken up the opportunity to accommodate events; with events being hosted by Find a Biz, Ashby and Croft, SFB Group and Horiba Mira.

Jointly, NBBC’s Economic Development team and Warwickshire CC will be delivering two events. The first, named ‘Tackling the Skills Shortage’ will take place on Thursday, November 22 and is designed to assist businesses in exploring different approaches to recruitment, whilst learning more of the many different talent pools to consider when building recruitment campaigns.

The second event, ‘Get on Track- Rail Supply Chain’ taking place on Thursday, November 29 will present the opportunity for businesses involved in engineering and advanced manufacturing to discover how to supply the rail sector; be it infrastructure, rolling stock or signalling and systems.

As part of the government’s plan to supply more people with superfast broadband NBBC will also host a ‘Gigabit Voucher Scheme’ event which will take place at the town hall on Tuesday, November 27. This will give businesses or residents a chance to meet suppliers to discuss their individual requirements and learn more about obtaining a voucher towards gigabit capable connectivity. Qualifying businesses will be able to claim up to £3000 against the cost of their broadband connection and a residents group voucher worth up to £500 will also be available. Cllr Julie Jackson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council said:

“Last year’s inaugural festival was a huge success for businesses across the Borough so we are delighted to see its return and be able to lend our expertise to support this event once again.

“With a fantastic transport network, a great local discount scheme on rates for expanding, relocating or start-up businesses and a top quality, abundant university offering, our region is one of the best business locations in the UK and this festival provides a great platform to show that off.

“With so many ways for businesses to get involved at the festival on a small or larger scale, I hope to once again see local organisations taking advantage of this unique opportunity.”
