The collaborative work between NBBC and North Warwickshire Borough Council alongside partner agencies has been recognised as being “some of the very best in the country” by an independent body.

During its annual awards ceremony on 10 October, The Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation (the professional body that supports 354 Councils nationwide) recognised North Warwickshire Borough Council and its partners as a leading light nationally for the approach in delivery of high performing services and important proactive initiatives.

NBBC was identified for its mutual work with the food hub partnership Ediblelinks who won the award for Excellence in Innovation. The collaboration included a ground-breaking partnership with Ocado, Healthy Living Network and North Warwickshire Borough Council. Ediblelinks uses food surplus to reduce poverty, stress and diet related ill health and delivers targeted support across the Borough and beyond.

NBBC and the Northern Warwickshire Financial Inclusion partnership were also highly commended in the category ‘Excellence in Social Inclusion’ for their collaborative work with third sector agency partners to provide support to financially excluded people across Warwickshire. This crucial service provides proactive help to anyone impacted by welfare reforms, assisting them with finding work or looking at ways to maximise their income.

Cllr Julie Jackson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council said:

“It is wonderful to have the recognition of the IRRV and know that the collaborative services we provide are amongst those of the highest standard in the Country.

“I am immensely proud of everyone who has contributed to the highlighted initiatives, well done and congratulations to all involved, keep up the good work!”
