Nuneaton Street Market cancelled
Published on Friday, 12th October 2018
Met Office warnings of storm conditions has led to Nuneaton's street market being cancelled tomorrow, Saturday 13 October.
The tail end of Storm Callum is moving across the country and is likely to bring wind gusts of over 40mph to Nuneaton. The forecast means that it is not safe to erect or operate from our market stalls, which have a lower wind tolerance. As usual in these circumstances, trading will be limited to those regular market traders with perishable goods who are able to trade from their vehicles.
Jonathan White, Head of Town Centres and Marketing said:
“It is always disappointing when we have to cancel a market but safety has to come first. If a stall were to be blown over it could cause injury and damage.”
