Consultation events for Hawkesbury development announced
Published on Thursday, 13th September 2018
On behalf of the residents, the Borough Council has arranged two drop-in sessions in Hawkesbury, to consult on the Hawkesbury main modifications to the Borough Plan. These sessions have been arranged to give residents the chance to ask any questions they may have on the allocation of the former Hawkesbury Golf Course as a strategic housing site for 380 houses, as well as questions on the Borough Plan examination process.
The drop-in sessions will be held on Wednesday 26 September between 2pm and 8pm, and on Saturday 6 October between 10am and 4pm. Both sessions take place at the Hawkesbury Village Meeting Place, which is located next to The Boat Inn Public House on Blackhorse Road.
The Hawkesbury site has been added to the Borough Plan following the Inspector’s assessment that the previous site delivery issues had been addressed, which led to the Inspector stating that it would be difficult to justify omitting such a sustainable site from the Plan. It was in light of the Inspector’s advice that the Council added the site into the Borough Plan.
Cllr Neil Phillips, portfolio holder for Planning and Development said:
“We are holding these sessions at Hawkesbury to ensure that people have the chance to ask officers questions about the modifications to the Borough Plan.
“The modifications have been made on the recommendation of the Planning Inspector, who is now seeking feedback through this consultation exercise. I would urge anyone who needs further information before giving feedback to go along to one of the sessions.”
The consultation period is now open and runs until 7 November 2018. Residents and businesses are able to respond via email or in writing, with the consultation documents available to view on the Council’s website at www.nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk/consult, as well as in paper form at the Town Hall and Bedworth Area Office upon request.
