Launch of Engage NBBC
Published on Friday, 31st August 2018
Residents, community groups and local businesses are invited to give their views on the Borough Council’s future plans.
The Council’s consultation exercise, ‘Engage NBBC’, seeks feedback in two areas –on the suggested priorities within ‘Delivering Our Future’ (the Council’s updated corporate plan from 2019) and on the Council’s forthcoming budget for 2019-21.
Two short, straightforward surveys are available for completion either online, in paper format or in person at various Engage NBBC events around the Borough. Details are online at www.nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk/survey.
Simone Hines, NBBC Executive Director – Resources said:
“We want to listen to the views of our residents and businesses and take them on board when we make key decisions about the future, especially our spending priorities.
“Budgets are tight and likely to reduce even further, so it is especially important that we have clear priorities that are based on the wishes of the people we serve.
“I want everyone to feel involved in the future direction of their Borough. The input of local people in this consultation exercise will help to ensure that we can offer the very best services possible for those who live and work here.
“The surveys are designed to take just a few minutes of your time and we would really appreciate your participation.”
The Council’s updated corporate plan, ‘Delivering our Future’, will set out the Council’s vision and direction of travel up to 2031. The feedback from the consultation exercise will help to shape the development of the plan and ensure that the focus is on the right areas, so that plans align with the things that matter most to local people. Whether it’s refuse collection, street cleaning or community safety, parks, leisure, affordable housing or thriving town centres – this is an opportunity to let the Council know what works or needs improving and where efforts should be prioritised in the future.
The budget consultation exercise is more short term in focus and the Council is seeking views on spending priorities for 2019-2021.
To fit in with the Council’s prescribed budget timetable, feedback on the budget consultation is required by 30 September 2018. There is a little longer for the corporate plan – surveys need to be returned by 31 October 2018.
