Bedworth One Stop Shop

Published on Friday, 10th August 2018

Next week, the Borough Council’s one stop shop in Bedworth will operate temporarily from the Civic Hall whilst the service is relocated.

The Borough Council’s Customer Services Team is vacating the Bedworth High Street office in order to make way for much needed temporary emergency housing in the town centre and will take up occupation of new premises at Congreve Walk from Tuesday 21st August. In the meantime, a customer service advisor will be available on an appointment basis at the Civic Hall during the opening times of 10am and 4pm, from Monday 13th until Monday 20th August. If you wish to be seen be seen by the advisor please call Customer Services on 02476 376376 to book a suitable appointment. The advisor will be connected to the extended Borough Council network and able to contact other officers as required. Any requests for private interview rooms will be scheduled for after the move to Congreve Walk or if urgent, will be directed to the Town Hall.

The move has been timed to take place during the holiday period when the demand from face to face visitors at Bedworth is lower than normal. The plan of works for the relocation spans ten days, including the weekends, and incorporates the transfer of all fixtures and fittings, including IT equipment, from the old office to the new one.

Councillor Jill Sheppard said:

“We are looking forward to moving our excellent Customer Service Team to the new offices at Congreve Walk. Whilst some disruption to normal service can’t be avoided, I am pleased that they have been minimised and that the temporary service is for just one week during the holiday period. The benefits to Bedworth of the provision of temporary housing to cope with emergency situations far outweighs the short term disruption to normal services.
