Shared service agreement for kerbside recycling collection

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is working on a shared service agreement with Coventry City Council for its kerbside recycling collection service which will commence in October.
The agreement will mean that Coventry City Council will be undertaking the kerbside recycling collection of recyclables (brown lid bins) only and NBBC employees will continue to empty green lidded bins. This approach means NBBC will retain overall control of the service while Coventry City Council will deal with the day-to-day operational issues of kerbside collections for brown lid bins.
The proposals have been benchmarked against current recycling services operated by neighbouring local authorities within the County and we believe the new arrangements with Coventry City Council not only give good value for money but will deliver a high quality recycling operation for our residents. The proposals will also ensure minimal disruption and allow current bin collection days to remain in place.
