Of course, this year there’s special cause to celebrate, with the Council’s recent success in attracting grant funding of £146,000 for the development and expansion of a number of Veterans Hubs, and the recruitment of a Hub Support Worker.

Nuneaton & Bedworth and North Warwickshire is home to over 20,000 veterans many of families who have loved ones who are serving or have served in the Armed forces. With almost 50% of Warwickshire’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families located in the north of the county, the Council recognises the importance of ensuring their needs are understood.

NBBC worked in partnership with North Warwickshire Borough Council, VCP and the BGVA to secure the grant from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund.

Cllr Barry Longden said:

“Armed Forces Day celebrates our Armed Forces community, past, present, and future and I’m delighted that we can mark the day this year in such a positive way with our recent grant success.”
