NBBC Management restructure agreed.

A senior management team restructure at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has been approved by Full Council this evening. The move comes as part of the Council’s budget-setting exercise.
The restructure sees the size of the senior management team reduced to six directors from seven and role of the Managing Director deleted from the establishment. The new structure will comprise four directors and two executive directors, one of whom will oversee Operations and serve as Head of Paid Service, the other will have primary responsibility for Resources and will also serve as the Council’s Section 151 officer.
The appointments to the new posts have been agreed by Full Council following recommendations by the cross-party recruitment panel overseeing an internal competitive process in line with normal HR practice. It is announced that the executive director roles will be taken by Brent Davis (Operations) and Simone Hines (Resources). The new structure will be effective from June 2018, when the existing Managing Director leaves the organisation.
Dennis Harvey, Leader of the Council said:
“We have had to find over £1m of savings and the restructure of our senior management team contributes towards this.
“Tonight we have given careful consideration to the proposals put forward and agreed a new leaner structure that achieves the savings required and safeguards the efficient, effective delivery of services for our residents.
“Such decisions are always hard and making redundancies remains a last resort; however, I am confident that our new management structure remains robust and puts the Council in the best position going forward as it tackles the new challenges facing the public sector.”
