Borough Lottery - Good Causes promotion and registration
Published on Tuesday, 6th March 2018
The Council is inviting local charities and other not-for-profit organizations to register as good causes with the Borough’s new lottery.
Voluntary organizations and community groups of all kinds are being encouraged to take advantage of this new income stream, for which they will have no associated costs and no application fees.
For those interested in finding out more, there’s a presentation and information on hand at the Town Hall on Monday 12th March from 1.30 pm. Please book your place at:
To qualify as a good cause for the Borough Lottery, organisations must satisfy certain requirements – for instance, they must provide community activities within Nuneaton and Bedworth which are of benefit to residents, have a formal set of rules and have no undue restrictions on membership. Good causes must be either a registered charity with a board of trustees, a constituted group with a volunteer management committee or a registered Community Interest Company. There are some restrictions on the types of organisation permitted to apply – for example, profit-making groups or those promoting political or religious beliefs don’t qualify as good causes.
Tickets for the new Lottery go on sale at midnight on Wednesday 28 March and the first draw takes place on Saturday 28 April.
