Bin collection changes due to adverse weather

Published on Monday, 11th December 2017

Due to the snowfall and icy conditions throughout the Borough, alternative bin collection arrangements have been made.

Bin collection have not taken place today (Monday 11th December) and will not take place tomorrow (Tuesday 12th December).

Alternative arrangements have been put in place to deal with the backlog and reduce inconvenience to the residents affected as much as possible.

Bin collection changes this week

We anticipate that brown and black bin collections will recommence on Wednesday 13th December.

Green bin collections

Will be suspended all this week to provide additional support to catch up on the black bin and recycling collections missed on Monday and Tuesday. Green bin collections will recommence next week from Monday the 18th.

Collections missed Monday 11th

Black and brown lid bin collections which should have taken place on Monday 11th December, will be collected on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, therefore - if you missed your collection on Monday please present your bin on Wednesday 13th at 7am and leave out until it is collected Wed/Thurs/Fri.

Collections missed Tuesday 12th

Black and brown lid bin collections which should have taken place on Tuesday 12th December, will be collected on Saturday 16th December. If you should have received a collection on Tuesday the 12th, please present your bin for collection on Saturday the 16th at 7am.

Health and safety concerns regarding the adverse weather include 26 tonne vehicle driving conditions as well as footfall for collection staff and the difficulties around pulling bins through the snow. We thank all residents for their understanding in this matter.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and ask that residents please inform neighbours, family and friends who live in the Borough and are affected by the bin collection changes.
