Bin collection changes during the festive period

Published on Thursday, 7th December 2017

In order to accommodate bank holidays over the Christmas period, there will be temporary changes to some bin collections this year, affecting those who have bin collections on a Monday or Tuesday.

Changes to bin collections

Normal bin collection date

Re-scheduled collection date

Monday 25 December

Saturday 23 December

Tuesday 26 December

Saturday 30 December

Monday 1 January

Saturday 6 January

All other collections will remain the same.

Residents should ensure the correct bin(s) are presented by 7.00am on the day of their collection to avoid disappointment.

The Council’s refuse crews are spreading the message to make sure that everyone knows when they need to leave their bins out over the festive holiday period by delivering bin hangers – the hangers will give all residents the collection changes as well as provide some handy recycling reminders.

It is important to utilise all bins over the festive period, recycling as much as possible. Any overflow waste or recycling can be taken to Judkins Waste and Recycling Centre on Tuttle Hill, Nuneaton. Judkins opening times can be found here:

Collection calendars, recycling guides and waste information can be found on the Council’s website alternatively, you can contact us with any questions or queries you may have by emailing or calling 02476 376376.

Cllr Barry Longden, portfolio holder for Health and Environment said

“Once again we are trying to keep disruption to a minimum so the only residents affected will be those who would normally have a collection on the Christmas bank holidays. Visit the website for full details of the changes and also see lots of hints and tips on recycling and waste over the festive period.”

Please note that all green bin collections will be suspended for two weeks from Monday 8 January to Friday 19. They will then resume as normal  on Monday 22 January. This is to allow for mandatory waste operations training.
