Canvass deadline approaches – don’t lose your right to vote!

Published on Monday, 13th November 2017

Have you returned your Household Enquiry Form (HEF) yet? The deadline is Friday 24 November, so if you haven’t responded yet you have just over a week to do so.

All households within Nuneaton and Bedworth will have received a HEF as part of our annual canvass. This is a survey carried out each year in order to make sure that the register of electors is kept up to date.

Forms have been addressed to "the occupier" and contain the details of all those in the household who are registered to vote. Each household is required by law to make sure that the details on the form are correct. Although you may have already voted in elections or in a referendum, we need you to ensure that the information we have on record it is still current and accurate.

Failure to respond to the canvass may result in a fine of £1,000 and removal from the electoral register; this may leave members of the household unable to vote in elections and cause them difficulty in obtaining credit.

There are three ways you can respond to the canvass:

a) Call this number 0800 197 9871

If all the details are correct you can confirm they are accurate and when prompted insert your security code as detailed on the form.

b) Or Respond Online

You can confirm the details are correct or make any changes which need to be included.

c) Or By Post (responding by phone or online helps to save the council money)

You can complete and post back the form in the return envelope which will have been included with the form sent to you.

Where possible please phone or respond online and do not send the form back to us.
