Putting love on the map

Published on Friday, 8th September 2017

To celebrate Heritage Open Days 2017, Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery has launched the latest portable art map, on the theme of 'Love & Romance'.

The map uses local landmarks and inspirational personal stories to show the Borough in a different way.

This is the third and final map commissioned by artist Jhinuk Sarkar. Jhinuk said:

“During my time living and working in Nuneaton and Bedworth I heard many tales of romance which made me see the Borough with fresh eyes. I felt inspired to show how love is really all around us in this lovely place.

“I hope that residents and visitors will enjoy the real-life stories behind the maps.”

Cllr Ian Lloyd, portfolio holder for Arts and Leisure said:

“Jhinuk has really captured the fun and romance of our beautiful borough and encouraged us all to see familiar places differently.

“The portable map project has been a fantastic way of showing the beauty of Nuneaton and Bedworth in different ways.”

The maps are on sale at the Museum at a cost of £7.50.
