Residents are reminded of possible disruption caused by Remembrance events around the borough this weekend.

Traditionally around the country, people join a two-minute silence at 11:00am on Remembrance Sunday, held on the second Sunday in November.

Bedworth remains one of the only places outside London to continue to mark Armistice Day annually with a parade, period of silence and wreath laying, this year taking place at 11:00am this Saturday, 11 November.

For further information about the Armistice Day parade in Bedworth, visit the Borough Council website.

In Nuneaton, Bedworth, Bulkington and Ash Green, Remembrance Day events are also organised for this Sunday, 12 November, at 11:00am.

For further information about Remembrance Day events, see this page in the Borough Council website.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council Leader, Cllr Kris Wilson, said:

“Every year, the people of Nuneaton and Bedworth commemorate the sacrifices of those who gave their lives for our freedom.

“I know that this year will be no different.

“Road closures are in place and will mean weekend traffic will be temporarily disrupted during the ceremonies.

“As a result, we also ask for drivers to be patient and understanding if they do come across delays or disruption.

“After all, it is a small price to pay to honour those who have served our country with honour and distinction.”
