Jeudis’s 'Different but the Same' exhibition opens at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery this weekend.

The Jeudis group was formed more 18 years ago with the aim of inspiring each other to develop their skills and practice to create textile works of art.

As with all of Jeudis’s exhibitions, visitors will be amazed at just how many ways textiles can be used to create works of art.

The display opens on Saturday, 28 October, and runs throughout the winter months until Sunday, 24 March.

Catherine Ball, Hazel Brewer, Wendy E Williams, Gill Green, Elaine Winterton, Sue Glasper, and Sue Lewis are the exhibition members for this display.

They have been inspired by diverse themes such as the formation of coal, landscape, flowers, and dry-stone walling. In addition to using a mixture of techniques and stitching, they also use a range of materials in their work including leather, silk and organza.

Many of the works are for sale with prices from £45, which means this is an excellent opportunity to buy a unique piece of art for your home.

Cllr Sue Markham, Portfolio Holder for Public Services, said:

“We are delighted to introduce this creative exhibition and display all the wonderful items at the museum.

“There will be a wide variety of pieces on show, and there should be something for everyone to come along and appreciate until March next year.’’

Remember, as with all museum shows, admission is free and there are many other displays to enjoy throughout the building.

Please note, from Monday, 30 October, the Museum will switch to its winter opening times.
