Get your creative caps on and join us for the launch of a new Creative Borough Initiative

Published on Tuesday, 24th October 2023

Creative Borough is an ambitious programme set to transform arts and cultural activity in the borough, and its launch will include several activities you can get involved in.

Taking place tomorrow, 25 October, there will be a circus theme of fun and creative activities for visitors to Nuneaton Market to try their hands at.

Visit the market stalls beneath Nuneaton Clock Tower from 11:30am and have a go at creating some bamboo art with the Imagine Bamboo project team, or try hula hooping using bamboo hula hoops with the Borough Council’s sports development team.

Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery will also be holding a “make and take” acrobat crafting session on its stall.

Plus, head down to Coventry Street opposite the Town Hall to find out about Nuneaton’s brand-new arts destination, Grit Central. Meet the team that is responsible and hear all about the exciting upcoming programme of creative local community collaborations they have planned.

Cllr Sue Markham, Portfolio Holder for Public Services, said:

“We are really looking forward to sharing our plans to promote the arts with the launch of this fantastic new programme.

“Our aim is to raise awareness of the importance of cultural activity and help bring communities together.

“We really hope people can come along on the day to find out about all of the exciting things that are in the pipeline and get involved in some of the creative activities that are on offer.

“I look forward to seeing you there.”
