Officers from the Housing and Communities team at the council are set to bring a fresh, face-to-face dimension to our tenants with the introduction of our tenant market stalls.

These tenant market stalls will provide a great opportunity to connect with council officers as well as Warwickshire Fire & Rescue who will be on hand to promote fire safety in the home and offer safe and well checks.

Weather permitting, the first of the stalls is set to be in Nuneaton town centre from 10:00am until 2:00pm on:

• Wednesday, 27 September
• Wednesday, 22 November

Bedworth Market will be hosting our teams from 10:00am until 2:00pm on:

• Tuesday, 17 October
• Tuesday, 14 November

Stall attendees from the council include:

• Resident Engagement Officer – Want to become more involved within the local community through residents’ scrutiny panel, reporting repairs, damp and mould issues, litter picks, gardening competition and Neighbourhood Watch
• Anti-social behaviour Officer – They can assist with any concerns tenants may have for housing, anti-social behaviour, or criminality in the local area. They work closely with Council tenants to support victims and tackle perpetrators of anti-social behaviour
• Financial Inclusion Team Support Officers – Who can offer support with budgeting and managing money, keeping up with rent payments, paying fuel bills and council tax
• Skills Officer - Can support tenants wanting to gain new skills to improve their chances for getting better jobs which can be more fulfilling and improve their lives

Cllr Clare Golby, Deputy Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Portfolio Holder for Housing and Communities, expressed her enthusiasm for this new venture, stating:

“This initiative represents our commitment to connecting with and serving our council tenant community.

“These tenant market stalls offer a fantastic new way for our tenants to engage with us face to face, providing a platform where they can voice their concerns, seek assistance, and actively participate in enhancing our local neighbourhoods.

“We want to encourage those who wouldn’t normally come and speak to us to pop along, even if it’s just to say hello.

“We want to know the things we do right so we can do more of the things people want, as well as what people need help with.

“This is opportunity to connect, communicate, and collectively build a stronger, more vibrant community.”
