My Uncle Bill - A lunchtime talk about Larry Grayson by his great-nephew Mike Malyon
Published on Tuesday, 5th September 2023

Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery's Larry Grayson exhibition may have ended but there is still time to learn more about Nuneaton’s comic legend first-hand from his great-nephew.
The museum is hosting a lunchtime talk by Mike Malyon about Larry Grayson on Friday, 8 September from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.
Attendees will have the opportunity to see the new portrait of Larry up close as it will be on display at the museum for the talk before returning to its home at Nuneaton Town Hall.
While admittance to the talk is free, booking is essential.
The portrait by artist Dave Miles was unveiled last week in the presence of Mike and Isla St Clair, his Generation Game co-host.
Cllr Sue Markham, Portfolio Holder for Public Services, said:
“Larry Grayson is an absolute legend who was proud to call Nuneaton his home for many years.
“As a close relative of Larry, Mike will have some excellent recollections for everyone to hear and I urge anyone who is interested in Larry’s life and work to attend this talk at our museum.’’
There are still places left to attend the talk, to book call 024 7637 6158 during opening hours or email museum@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk.
The museum's very successful exhibition “Wiv Luv Larry” has moved to Bedworth Parsonage Project where it will open shortly and will be on display there for two months.
October will see the next lunchtime talk which is also free and will be delivered by the George Eliot Fellowship.
While at the Museum, why not also check out our temporary exhibitions?
