Refuse collection changes coming to Nuneaton and Bedworth

Published on Wednesday, 23rd August 2023

Postcards will soon be sent to all households in Nuneaton and Bedworth, informing them about refuse collection changes.

Nuneaton and Bedworth's refuse collection rounds will change during September.

While not all rounds are affected by the introduction of new routes, the changes will mean a new bin collection day for around 40 per cent of the Borough’s households. All homes will receive a postcard informing them of their collection day, whether their bin day is changing or not, early in September. The changes will be effective from Monday, 25 September.

This is happening because as the borough grows, it is important that bin collection routes remain as efficient as possible.

By making changes to our bin collection schedules it ensures fuel and resources will be used in the best possible way and that the numbers of houses collected from each day are balanced across the two-week schedule.

Cllr Sue Markham, Portfolio Holder for Public Services, said:

“Collection days will or will not change depending on location and other household bin collection requirements for that collection day.

“Everyone will receive a postcard in early September detailing their bin collection day from Monday, 25 September, showing a section of their collection calendar.’’

Future collection calendars can be downloaded prior to, and after, receiving the postcard.

If you are unable to find your street or calendar, contact customer.services@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk.

Everyone will receive a postcard whether their collection day is changing or not.

Even if your bin collection day is not changing, it is likely your bins will be collected at a different time of the day than previously.

Therefore, it is important that residents present their bins by 7:00am on collection day.
