Published on Tuesday, 1st August 2023

Come and get ‘hands-on’ with summer-themed artefacts from the museum’s collection.
Join us at Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday, 19 August, as we bring the joys of the holiday season to you with our Hands on History event, 'Beside the Seaside'.
You will be able to discover a variety of seaside related objects, from natural beach treasures to classic seaside postcards and souvenirs to evoke memories of favourite holiday destinations.
Our Hands on History events represent a unique opportunity to handle some of the wonderful artefacts from the museum’s collections.
The sessions are free and there is no need to book. Drop in anytime on between 11:00am and 4:00pm in the Picture Gallery.
Cllr Sue Markham, Portfolio Holder for Public Services, said:
“The museum’s handling sessions enable visitors to feel the excitement of real history in their hands.”
The seaside theme continues in the Picture Gallery where visitors can enjoy some of our magnificent seascape paintings.
While at the Museum, why not also check out our temporary exhibitions?
Our "Wiv Luv Larry'' exhibition celebrates entertainer Larry Grayson on what would have been his 100th birthday.
There is still time to see the Coventry and Warwickshire’s Society of Artists exhibition showcasing a variety of local artworks. You can also explore our 'In Sickness and in Health' showing.
Visit our Museum & Art Gallery webpage for opening hours.
