Former derelict site set to become state of the art housing development
Published on Tuesday, 2nd May 2023

A former derelict brownfield site in Nuneaton which once contained prefab housing is set to be turned into a new development of 14 affordable, high-spec modern homes.
The development at Vale View in Nuneaton, which is due to commence this month will contain a mix of one, two and three bedroom properties, with an estimated completion date in early 2024.
Main contractor Jeakins Weir, who are also responsible for constructing the site at Byford Street in Nuneaton will be once again bringing their expertise to the site.
Managing Director, Alistair Weir, said:
“The homes will include the same environmentally friendly features as those at the Byford site, including hydrogen-ready boilers, rainwater butts, solar panels, electric vehicle charging points and special features that attract wildlife.
“These features mean that the homes will not only be sustainable but also affordable to run.”
Cllr Clare Golby, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Housing and Communities, added:
“I’m really happy to be announcing yet another new development of homes for the Council to provide to people in the Borough who need our help. The development on Byford Street broke ground in April and I am so pleased that we have another already set to start.
“I'm well aware we have a shortage of Council properties in our Borough, so I'm looking forward to seeing the developments progress and delivering these much-needed homes.”
