Does your street want to take part in the Coronation celebrations?

Published on Wednesday, 15th March 2023

Are you thinking about organising a street party to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III?

If so, you will have to apply to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council for your event over the weekend of May 6. Applications need to be submitted no later than April 6.

Last year saw dozens of street parties held safely throughout the borough to mark the Platinum Jubilee with the main tip for holding one to plan early, think about what you want to achieve and get in touch at least four weeks in advance.

Here’s how to apply to host a street party.

Once you submit your completed application form, we will look at what you are proposing before contacting you to let you know if your application has been successful or if there is anything else you need to consider.

Cllr Kris Wilson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said:

“Last year we saw communities across the Borough come together to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.

"We really got to see the best of our towns and thousands of people enjoyed the opportunity to come together and get to know your neighbours.

“For this historic occasion that hasn’t been seen for 70 years, we hope that the people of Nuneaton and Bedworth will again come together and celebrate community, neighbourhood and friendship.

“Please get your applications in as soon as possible so we can make this an event to remember.”
