On Friday, 24 February, there is a national minute’s silence at 11am to mark the one-year anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

This moment will pay tribute to the bravery of Ukrainians and highlight the UK’s solidarity with the country, as they continue their courageous fight.

As part of the national reflection, the Council will illuminate the Town Hall in the colours of the Ukrainian flag for the duration of the weekend. The Council will also hold a one-minute silence in the Town Hall at 11am on Friday in unison with the national tribute.

Cllr Kris Wilson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said:

“We stand with our nation to pay tribute to the brave people of Ukraine and show solidarity with them as they continue their fight.

"Illuminating our Town Hall and taking part in the minute’s silence is the least we can do to pay our respects and we hope that you will join us in a show of solidarity.”
