Mayor with High Sheriff of Warwickshire

The High Sheriff of Warwickshire, David Kelham did not come empty-handed and brought the Mayor, Cllr Clarke JP, a special gift for showing him around the Mayor’s Parlour at Nuneaton Town Hall.

The gift was a bottle of High Sheriff Ale, and Cllr Clarke explained how this came about.

Cllr Clarke said:

“Given his background in the drinks and hospitality industry, and his recognition of the part that local producers and local pubs play in making communities stronger, David approached a number of Warwickshire brewers to produce a High Sheriff Ale.

“He selected a light but well-balanced and flavoursome pale ale produced for him by Windmill Hill Brewery in Leamington and his daughter designed the label which bears a silhouette of a High Sheriff with an uncanny resemblance.

“It was a pleasure to be able to host David and very generous of him to bring a bottle of his brew along and I look forward to having a taste of it.’’

The High Sheriff Ale has been the drink of choice at many civic events and is a calling card Mr Kelham takes when visiting organisations who have been kind enough to open their doors and these included several mayor's parlour visits.

High Sheriff Ale can be purchased directly from Windmill Hill Brewery and is for commercial sale, please donate to the High Sheriff charity Crimebeat, funding projects to keep young people out of the criminal justice system.
