Giant illuminated puppets called DUNDU and BABY DUNDU to electrify crowds as they walkabout Nuneaton town centre, visiting community groups and interacting with audience members.
This is a free event for all the family to enjoy which starts in Newdegate Square on Wednesday, 26 October from 6:30pm, as they perform in Nuneaton for the very first time.
The experience will be realised through international company, Dundu, along with support from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Global Streets, and Coventry-based firm, Imagineer Productions, who have previously been involved with other attractions in the Borough.
They helped to bring a 20-ft mechanical puppet of Lady Godiva to the town, having been part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations in London, too.
Imagineers Productions CEO, Jane Hytch, said:
“Through years of stellar craftsmanship, original live music, and finely tuned puppeteering, we can bring a visual, interactive, mobile experience to Nuneaton.
“It is hard to describe the captivating nature of this glowing figure but when we see the lights light up in someone's eyes, we know our puppets have achieved our goal - to instil a simple sense of wonder and togetherness in adults and children alike.
“The only thing larger than these giants are their hearts.”
Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Cllr Kris Wilson, said:
“Yet again, we are supporting residents to enjoy new experiences, and this event promises to be another spectacular feature that the people of Nuneaton and Bedworth will get to see live and up close.
“Please do come down and join us if you are available – these things don’t happen that often.”
