A new fabric shop in Nuneaton town centre is going from strength to strength thanks to support from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

Fabric Mungur opened eight weeks ago and has seen local market trader Jun Mungur occupy a former jeweller's building in Newdegate Street.

Jun has been trading on local markets for six years, and although he now has these premises, he will continue to trade on the markets when possible.

He said:

“I would like to thank the Council’s Market Team for all their support through the pandemic and helping me get the premises.

“I hope all my customers continue to buy my fabrics from the shop and when I’m on my stall at Bedworth’s covered market.

“My son Adam will be helping me run the shop, along with my daughter Peran and fiancé Jodie, who is my rock. Adam is also designing my shop signage, which will be in place very soon.”

Cllr Kris Wilson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Portfolio Holder for Business and Regeneration, said:

“I’m really pleased that Fabric Mungur has taken on business premises in Nuneaton and are expanding from their market stall.

“I appreciate that we are in difficult times, but I am sure that they will continue to go from strength to strength and add to the offering in our town centre.”

The shop at 21-25 Newdegate Street, Nuneaton is currently open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm but will also open on Fridays from October.
