Borough mountain bike trail huge success!
Published on Tuesday, 15th March 2022

During the first month of opening the trail saw more than 7,000 riders take to the track.
Since its official opening on the 18 February, Miners’ Mountain Bike Trails’ has seen a huge influx of cyclists and walkers using the facilities.
The British Cycling approved, family-friendly facility, which is free to all users is attracting an average 25 visitors a day, peaking to over 600 visitors at weekends.
There’s something for everyone with footpaths, three different mountain bike trails of varying difficulty: Newdigate, Hawkesbury and Woodlands, to suit all levels of user, plus a skills area and pump trail.
Although most visitors are using the facility correctly, the Council has received a few comments that riders have been cycling on the footpaths and walkers wondering onto cycle paths. We would just like to remind visitors to pay attention to the trail signs and direction of travel to avoid accidents. Please follow the guidance at all times.
Councillor Sue Markham, Portfolio Holder for Public Services, said:
“The sheer number of visitors to our new mountain bike trail in Bedworth has been amazing. We hope that all our users are having fun and thoroughly enjoying themselves.
“With plans for the Physical Activity Hub well under way, this is just the start of a suite of new facilities coming to Miners’ Welfare Park and we hope in the future to attract even more people to this fantastic Borough location.”
