Civic Hall event suspensions

Civic Hall in Bedworth

Events at Bedworth Civic Hall will continue to be suspended until further notice.

Due to the decision to continue to use the Civic Hall as a vaccination centre, it has been required to cancel any forthcoming events at the Civic Hall. This will also enable GP surgeries and local pharmacies to focus on primary health care, as we understand the frustration that residents experience in obtaining a GP appointment.

We send our deepest apologies to all patrons and hirers and all those who have been affected by the suspensions.

We are politely asking people with bookings to please not contact the Civic Hall for a refund. Civic Hall staff are working their way through the list of shows and will be in touch to issue refunds as soon as possible.

The Civic Hall Box Office is only open for phone calls from 10am to 2pm on Mondays, and 10am- 12noon on Wednesdays and Fridays. The building remains closed to customers in person. Staff will be contacting patrons and issuing refunds during the hours of 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

We would appreciate that any correspondence is directed to civic.hall@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk

Cllr Sue Markham, Portfolio holder for Public Services commented:

“We know that many of you will be hugely disappointed that more shows are having to be cancelled and we send our apologies to those that have been affected.

“Our focus right now is to help protect our residents and ensure we are doing all we can to enable the NHS to deliver the Covid-19 vaccines and boosters to help save lives. Covid-19 is an ongoing threat, and we need to ensure we are ready for any future upheaval it may cause. The first duty of this council is to protect public health. The jabs administered by the NHS at the Civic Hall will have saved many lives across our Borough, and we must continue to protect as many lives as possible from this terrible virus.

“The Civic Hall is a much-loved venue and terrific asset to the local community however, the Council significantly financially supports the Civic Hall’s costs each year. The continued use of the site as a vaccination centre will enable us to work on a long-term plan to ensure that Bedworth retains an entertainment venue that is financially viable for the future.

“For the time being, whilst we are still facing a global pandemic, we support the NHS following their request to extend their use of the Civic Hall to ensure people are protected against Covid-19.

“Please be patient as the team at the Civic Hall are working as fast as they can to process refunds.”
